This talk is an attempt to cast some light on the subject.

This Public Talk discusses the inconsisitency of human nature, versus the consistency of the God of the Bible, the need for justice as well as mercy, what modern genocide is, and instances in the Bible where the ancient nation of Israel was commanded to destroy certain tribes. The idea that people have of Christianity today, is to be forgiving. This is true, but there is something more fundamental than that, that the Bible teaches, is that we all need to be forgiven. So in this Bible Talk there are several areas we would like to look at:
• Why is there a need for forgiveness?
• Forgiveness from what?
• Are there conditions for forgiveness?
• Then we will look at forgiving others – even as we have been forgiven.

Many people who claim to be Christians believe that the Holy Spirit is God Himself. They believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. They believe that the Holy Spirit literally comes into you, and that is how God can literally be in you it gives you eternal salvation come what may. They believe that the Holy Spirit moves them to make strange noises, and shouting, and be full of shaking, and that they have found Jesus. What is even more remarkable it seems, is that they can achieve all this, be a vessel of the Holy Spirit, be eternally saved, able to speak in tongues, and to truly know God, without even reading and understanding the Bible, the very book, - the only book that tells them about God in the first place. Let us examine carefully what the Bible actually teaches, rather than what people invent.

Both books may be considered as History books, the first going back to 4,000 years before Christ and the second going back to Jesus Christ 2000 years ago. To learn of the involvment of France in the Bible we need to go to the book of Reveleation, in the New Testament. We can work through the book of revelation to reveal what exactly how France has changed the course of history.

We ask this question as there are many who claim to call themselves Brethren of Christ – by the Greek – Christadelphians, and there are many who call anyone who claims to be a Christian as Brother, using this term so loosely, so as to cause much confusion, and so bring a reproach upon the very name of Jesus Christ. We ask What is a Christian? What does it mean to be Christ's brother.

The return of Jesus Christ from heaven, his second appearing, is real, bodily and substantial. It is necessitated in order that he might fulfil the declared purpose of God, as it is presented in the scriptures of the prophets and apostles. That purpose required that the person who was to fulfil the office of Messiah, the Anointed One, should be a prophet, a priest and a king.

The importance of prayer can be easily overlooked. Today in this modern world of busy hectic lives in the struggle to earn a living amongst many who deny even the existence of God, prayer can
become neglected and sometimes forgotten. This article is designed to help understand the power of prayer to God, and communication with Him, and also to assist in ensuring that prayer to the Almighty God is a habit, an instinct, a second nature as it were, in a way which is acceptable to Him.

This passage in Luke’s Gospel took place at the end of Jesus’ public ministry. It had begun in the synagogue at Nazareth and Luke records the incident, “Now Jesus came to Nazareth, and in three and a half years Jesus and his twelve disciples proclaimed the Gospel of the Kingdom of God throughout Judaea, Galilee and east of the Jordan River from Caesarea Philippi, the Decapolis and Perea and Jerusalem. His fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with various diseases and torments, and those which were suffering with mental diseases and he healed them all. Jesus became very popular with the ordinary people who followed him in great multitudes from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and Judaea, and from beyond Jordan. (Mat 4:23-25)

In this modern world of apparent relative morality, the starting point with regards to the Word of God is one of dismissal, scepticism and doubt. There is a great contrast to the spirit of this age with those who take a different perspective, and instead seek to align themselves with what God has revealed as He shares His intellect with His children and making that the premise of their approach. Such Bible students look for meaning, they dig for it and they glean what they can, and they refine the material and hone it. This we endeavour to do in this presentation.

Before Christianity the continent of Africa was divided between its many peoples, tribes, religions and languages. In the modern era, however, Christianity is now the most common religion held throughout the continent, helping to unite it's peoples through a common language and faith system. This advent of Christianity in Africa can be traced back to the labours of one man whose missionary work shone brighter than the many others that had tried the same. Join our exploration, below, of the travails and travels of David Livingstone who helped make Christianity the fore-front religion in Africa, today.

Understanding biblical baptism is not optional for believers in Christ. In this talk we explore Baptism and how important it is.

The newspaper reports refer to teachings by the curate which he claims are derived from the Bible. If you have read any of these reports, you will have noticed allusions to the return of the Jews to Israel as an example of Bible prophecy being fulfilled, and the expectation of the return of Jesus Christ to this earth. You will have read of the establishment of the Kingdom of God on earth and the 1,000 year reign of Christ (known as the Millennium) in which all nations of the world will live in peace and harmony, with a just and honest government and a rejuvenation of the earth to make it like the Garden of Eden. You will also have been made aware of predictions of an approaching. Third World War, described in the book of Revelation as Armageddon.

The previous article on the Gosepl of the Resurrection (28/12/2021), generated further questions, regarding the judgement seat of the Lord Jesus Christ. Some of those questions have been compiled, and are here for reference. These are interesting questions, some are over-lapping and not all can be answered with certainty, but the following article is designed to provide some scriptural answers.

The scriptures are not silent on the resurrection of the dead, and this subject is core to the hope of Israel, and distinguishes the Truth preached, from many who believe in the apostasy of going off up to heaven after death. Apart from the resurrection of Jesus Christ, belief in the resurrection is rarely talked about by main-stream churches, because of the muddled thinking and misunderstanding associated with it. For example; what is the point of your body being resurrected to life, if your eternal soul has already found bliss in heaven? What is the point of reuniting body and soul? What happens next? Catholic teaching is silent, and so many are left confused. So, to many, talk of the resurrection is alien, and strange

The book we know as the Bible began to come into existence over 3,000 years ago. The earliest books were written by Moses for the Hebrew speaking people, known as Israelites in history. Moses may have had access to information written on clay tablets before the Flood (see Genesis 5 ‘This is the book of the generations of Adam”) which provides a genealogy from Adam to Noah and his sons. The first five books, collectively known as the Pentateuch, describe the origin of the Israelites; how they sprang from the patriarchs Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Jacob had twelve sons and from these came the twelve tribes of Israel. Jacob and his family of some 70 persons came from the land of Canaan into Egypt, as a result of a famine. In time the Egyptians considered these Israelites to be a threat to their nation and enslaved these descendants of Jacob as described in the Book of Exodus.

The history of Christianity is no better than that of the Jews. The Lord Jesus and his apostles established in their teachings very clearly the basic meaning of the Old Testament scripture. This is summarised in the New Testament phrase: “The things concerning the Kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ”. The substance of these things is described as the Gospel, or good news and glad tidings. This contained specific information concerning the Kingdom of God and the identity, character and achievements of Jesus Christ; which were essential to a correct belief and faith that are absolutely necessary to the attainment of the salvation which the Bible promises.

The Bible has always been at the heart of the Christian religion. It does not matter which Church, denomination, or sect you may investigate, the Bible will be in a prominent position. It does so in the Catholic Church, in the Orthodox Churches, in the Church of England, Methodist, Baptist, Brethren, Jehovah’s Witness, and many others besides. The Bible is the one thing that unifies all christian sects, and so here we explore its origins and answer the fundamental question; where does the Bible come from?

This letter of Paul to the Romans, explains the teaching of justification by faith through the Lord Jesus Christ, especially through the context of many believers becoming follwers of the Lord Jesus, who were Jews. The apostle Paul shows that the gospel does what the law of Moses could not do, in as much as the gospel, is able to deliver from the condemnation of sin. In this article we explore how the law of Moses was replaced by the law of Christ.

This series of subjects have been chosen, with a Tbit of a nod to the 1930 sepigram attributable to the left wing British journalist and Soviet agent Willian Norman Ewer, How odd of God to choose the Jews! Yes, it was an anti-Semitic slur. It invited the riposte from Leon Roston the Jewish political scientist: Not odd of God. / Goyim annoy 'im. Another response was: Not odd of God / His son was onen but the best was from Ogden Nash: But not so odd As those who choose A Jewish God, Yet spurn the Jews. And so, our series is also an attempt at a witty retort to the antisemitic How odd of God to choose the Jews. Looking at firstly Whose are the Jews, Abuse of the Jews, World views of the Jews, and Paying our Dues to the Jew. We will explore why the Jews are special and God’s chosen people, and then we will no doubt be asking how strange it is of man, to try to change the plan. So, who are the Jews then?

The advice offered here to teenagers is suitable in principle to anyone really, because despite what anyone tells you, everyone thinks and feels the same, the only difference is experience and knowledge. So dear reader, we must take the message to ourselves. Even old people can be spiritual teenagers, not just a child, but now finding our feet, but suffering setbacks, learning by experience. Every age, every stage is a difficult one, every step of life decisions have to made. Equally every stage of life we can still have fun and enjoy the benefits that have been given us. It is not helpful to brand one particular phase of life any more difficult than another. It is all perfectly normal. Older people can have a habit of looking down their noses at young people, typical teenagers, we weren’t like that in my day”… yes you were Old Man!!
